“Judai…it’s over.”

“W-what?” The slender brunette stared at her boyfriend with confusion in her eyes. The two were outside on Duel Academy’s docks. Johan sighed softly as he looked away. Putting his hands into his pockets he just shrugged his shoulders up and down not giving her an answer. Despite her small size the girl was very strong. She began pounded her hands against the teal haired teen’s chest.

“Answer me Johan! Why would say such a thing?!”

“………”

“JOHAN!”

Sighing once more he turned his eyes on hers. A tiny gasp escaped her lips as she stepped back while she stared into his eyes. There was such a fierceness in them she had never seen before. Johan just stared at her then said something in a tone so harsh it sent goose bumps up her arm.

“You want to know why I said that? Huh, Judai? Do you really want to know?”

Slowly she nodded her head to him. He sighed once more as he put a hand to his face. After rubbing his face for a bit he finally spoke.

“I don’t love you.”

“W-what?”

“I. Don’t. Love. You.”

Tears stung the girl’s eyes as she began hitting him again this time even harder. He stood there taking the hits, not really caring. Johan grabbed her by the wrists and held them firmly to her side. Slowly he pushed away causing her to cry more. Turning away from her he began walking the opposite direction with his hands back in his pockets.

“Johan…Johan…JOHAN!”

She screamed his name but he never turned around he just kept walking away. More tears came running down her face as she fell to her knees. Wrapping her arms around her shoulders she continued to scream his name until she was just screaming. But Johan never turned around. He got onto one of the school’s boats and left DA forever.

A four years later…

After he left Johan went back to regular old high school. He was very bright so he had all advanced classes which he kept up high grades in each of them. He also had joined the football team hoping it would make him forget everything, turned out he became the quarterback for his school’s team. The teen also had his share of girlfriends but it would either end in heartbreak for them or him. Johan won a full scholarship to the best school in Japan where he trained to become computer engineer…he graduated in less then two years. But he never did forget what happened that day. Her screams haunted him everyday. A few tears would fall from his eyes as he remembered that awful day. But he had to. It was the only way for her to be happy. Judai had a beautiful voice everyone knew that. The School of Performing Arts had even sent her an application from to get her to go to their school. They said she would defiantly end up on Broadway, but of course she would. She was beautiful inside and out. But he had found out from Shou that she was going to pass it up just to be with him. Johan was shocked that she would give up something like this, she had been dreaming of performing since that whole Cinderella play. He had to be cruel to be kind.

“Judai…I miss you…” He softly said to no one else in particularly in his upstate Manhattan apartment. The job he had gotten as a computer engineer caused him to move which he was happy to do. But he forgot that he was close to her but he didn’t dare go see her. She probably still hates him for what she did…as well as got a new boyfriend. He wouldn’t be surprised if she did.

“Well at least she’s happy…”

Johan sat in his kitchen sipping a cup of coffee as he read the Sunday newspaper. His eyelids lazily closed over his eyes but he snapped them open since he would see Judai’s sweet face. The teal haired man was so bored that he didn’t notice the Arts section. He glanced back when he saw something of interest. Judai was performing at the city’s opera house.

“Maybe I should…no… I can’t. She wouldn’t have forgiven me nor ever will.”

Leaning back against his chair he looked up at his ceiling remember all the good times the two had together. His lips against hers, the way she laughed when he said something funny, how she called him her prince charming. A loud thumping noise brought him out of his day dream. Looking at what was making the noise destroyed his good mood. It was his evil side Jesse who had his own angry look on his face.

‘Oh no here we go again…” The good boy thought as he stared at the darker version. Jesse got up and walked over to him then slammed his hands down onto the table.

“Can you please not do that.”

“You just HAD to do what you did with Judai didn’t you?”

“God, not this again.”

“I lost my queen cause of you!”

Johan rolled his eyes as he rested his head on top hand listening to Jesse rant. The insane man threw his hands in the air disgusted then began pacing. He glared at his good counterpart then looked back in front of him.

“She was finally going to let me in, Johan. IN!”

“Yea, Jesse I-” But the angry spirit wouldn’t let him finish. The teal haired man covered his face and leaned back as the man continued his rant.

“We were going to finally do it! You know how long I’ve been waiting to do it with her?!”

“I know…and you wanted to do it with her since-”

“Since I saw her! And another thing-”

“I ruined your life. I know Jesse…I KNOW!”

“Jeez what’s got your boxers in a knot?”

“You wouldn’t care.”

Jesse raised an eyebrow then did his signature smirk as he leaned his elbows onto the table and cupped his face acting like how a girl does when something juicy is going to be spilled. Moving his fingers from his eyes Jesse saw that Johan wasn’t going to let it drop. Sighing softly he took his hand off his face.

“Since you seemed oh so interested, I miss her is all.”

“That’s it?”

“Yea.”

“So if I keep talking about my girl I keep annoying you?”

“Yes so stop it.”

“Nah…I think I’ll keep talking about her.”

“Jesse I mean it.”

“I don’t know why you miss your girl but I miss mine cause of red rose lips, that hourglass shape, that rack, that soft hair and…”

In a blur Jesse was slammed up against a nearby wall by the throat. Johan had a look his opposite had never seen before. Stunned for the moment the bad boy grinned and began laughing insanely.

“What is so funny, Jesse?!”

“Ha ha …I thought I was bad but you’re much worse….”

A sadden look came across the man’s face as he let his other half go. He slumped to the ground depressed. Jesse rolled his eyes a bit as he knelt down so the two were at eye level.

“If you miss her then go see her.”

“I can’t, she might still hate me.”

Quickly getting up while helping Johan up Jesse shook his head as he crossed his arms.

“Mhm….see that’s your problem. You’re way too worried about what might happen. If you don’t go see her tonight you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.”

“When did you become so well researched on relationships?”

“I’m more of a man than you are.”

“JESSE!

“Cya!” And the bad boy barely dodged a punch. Panting angrily the teal haired man slumped back into his chair. His duel spirit Ruby popped in. She began rubbing her head against his arm smiling lightly at him. Scratching her behind the ear he sighed a bit as he again rested his head on his hand.

“I know Ruby, I should go see her… But I can’t…”

“Biii?”

Johan sighed for another time as the purple feline jumped from the table and floated over to his room. Raising an eyebrow at what she was up to Ruby came back with something in her mouth. Setting herself in front of her master he saw what she had. It was a cute picture of Judai wearing a pink dress expertly showing off her body with a black 1920’s hat. In the picture she was winking at the owner as she tipped her hat up a bit. Ruby smiled happily as she saw him smile which she hasn’t seen lately.

“Thanks Ruby I needed that.”

“Biii…”

‘The others must have set her up for this…I’m glad they did.’ Johan thought as he took the photo from spirit and stared at it. Smiling lightly he dreamt of her doing that to him as he took many pictures of her. A tapping interrupted his thoughts.

“Not again Jesse, I’m not in the-”

But the tapping was coming from outside. Getting up the former duelist went to the window above the kitchen sink with the feline jumping onto his shoulder. Opening it he stuck his head out. A shocked look came onto the two’s faces. It was Hane Kuriboh! The furry winged creature had his arms crossed and tapped his foot in midair. Johan raised an eyebrow while Ruby flew up to talk to the creature. After a few minutes of spirit talking Ruby let out a happy yelp. Spinning in circles she flew into the apartment and began tugging on her master’s blue shirt. Not knowing what was going he just let her tug him along. They left the apartment and began walking down the busy street.

“Ruby what are you doing!?”

But she didn’t answer him just tugged. He was forced onto a bus to wherever it was heading to. He was on that accursed thing for two hours, dealing with screaming children and sitting near very strange people. One being a man who kept trying to touch him, Johan had to move close to the bus driver for it to stop. But finally Ruby tugged at him to get off at a stop. It was the city’s small Oak Forest Park. Annoyance painted itself across the young man’s face but Ruby took no hint of noticing.

“Ruby where are you taking me?!”

“Biii!”

“Uhhh…”

He was dragged until the two reached a small clearing in the wooden trail. Unlike Japan where they had one type of tree America had a variety. It was spring time so the trees were blossoming now. Circling them were apple, pear, and other types of trees with flowers to match on the ground. He looked around, the sky was a bright blue with puffy white clouds. Hane Kuriboh descended from the sky with a smile in his eyes. He motioned them to follow him through the trees, Johan was pushed to follow. For sometime the three walked with Johan questioning them to no avail. The smell of seawater hit his noise.

“Guys, seriously where are you taking me?”

The two suddenly stopped and he stared in awe. They were on a beautiful hillside overlooking the ocean. They seemed to be so high up Johan could touch the clouds. On the other side of the hill in the clouds was feminine figure. It began walking towards them.

“What the…?”

As the woman came closer he noticed she was wearing a pink dress with a bouquet of roses in her hands. She almost looked like what a bride would. Tilting his head a bit to the side he stared in awe. A sweet voice floated from her soft lips to his ears sending shivers down his spine. That voice it sounded so familiar…

“Hello Johan.”

“W-what? J-Judai?!”

It was indeed her. She softly smiled at him as she stood before him. Without thinking he ran to her. The two stared at each other with Johan blushing.

“Judai…w-what are you doing here?”

Giggling lightly she shook her head at him. Brown eyes met amber eyes.

“Waiting for you.”

“For me?”

“Mhmm.”

He stared at her stunned. When he got a good look at her he saw the pink dress was actually a wedding gown with a veil to match. She had rose clips on either side of her head. She looked absolutely beautiful.

“Ummm…why are you dressed like that?”

Blushing slightly she glanced away as she answered.

“I…I wanted to surprise you since we haven’t seen each other… Don’t remember what you said at the Cinderella rehearsal?”

“Uhhh…”

“You said one day you would marry me…And I thought I’d surprise you with this…Don’t you like it?”

He looked at her. Tears stung at her eyes, he softly smiled.

“I love it. So you’re not mad?”

“I know why you did what you did…So I could perform right, to make me happy?”

“Y-yea…”

She walked up to him and smacked him on the chest. She smirked at him then softly said.

“Johan, I’m always happy when I’m with you.”

He blushed slightly but grinned a bit. She raised her own eyebrows at his grin.

“Judai…I…I…

“Yes?” She looked up at him with confused eyes. Sighing softly he turned around and began talking to himself? She stared at him more confused then ever. He turned back around smiling softly at her.

“….”

“Johan?”

He got down onto one knee, she stared at him confused wondering what he was doing. Johan pulled something out of his pocket, the brunette’s eyes widen at the small little black box in his hands. He lifted the top of it to reveal a golden ring with a 16-kt. Diamond on top of it. She blushed with tears stinging her eyes again.

“Will you marry me Judai.”

“J-Johan…”

He smiled lovingly at her. She nodded her head. He placed the ring on her left ring finger. He got up and put his hands into hers.

“Johan…”

“Judai..”

Getting onto her toes she lifted herself up to kiss him. Jesse smiled at his counterpart behind some trees. He was surprisingly happy but where was his kiss?

“Jesse.”

“Huh?”

Hands grabbed his face giving him a surprised look. Rose lips pressed against his own. When the kiss was broken he saw Jaden who was also in a wedding dress but black with gold clips and a bouquet of blood red roses.

“Marry me, babe?”

“Yes.”

“YES!”

Rolling her eyes Jaden kissed her king.

Two years later….

Judai tucked her little girl into bed. The light green haired girl smiled happily at her mother while holding a female version of a kuriboh with a tail. Her husband was tucking in their little boy, his sister’s twin. Kissing her daughter good night then her son the two parents turned the lights off to let the little ones sleep.  Judai hugged her husband tightly as she buried her head into his chest, he softly kissed the top of her head.

“What a life…right Johan?”

“Yea…Judai..”

“Hm?”

“I love you.”

Giggling softly she kissed her prince charming. As did her counterpart Jaden. Surprisingly Jesse was a pretty good dad but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t his perverted self but he kept it on the down low for the kids. Both men were happy that they had taken the chance they did. They had pretty good life with their families.
